Signature Treatment Programs from Dr. Moore
Withdrawal from drugs such as Xanax, Klonopin (clonazepam), and Ambien is one of the most dangerous situations you or your family member can go through. People can, and do, die from this. It is essential that you do this with medical supervision - whether that is at ARCH, or somewhere else. DO NOT do this by yourself.
Ambien/Benzodiazepine Detoxification Program
Whether you take these drugs recreationally, or exactly as they were prescribed to you, does not matter. They are addictive drugs, and create both physical and mental dependence in those that use them. Patients often develop tolerance as well, meaning a higher dose of these medications is required to achieve the desired effect. This can be dangerous.
The most severe symptoms of withdrawal from these medications include potentially fatal seizures. Much more common withdrawal symptoms are a large barrier to discontinuing the drugs. These symptoms include severe anxiety, irritability, sweating, sleep problems, and more. Going through withdrawal from these medications without assistance can cause an inability to function day-to-day, either at home or at work. You or your loved one does not have to get off these powerful chemicals alone.
At ARCH, we treat the symptoms of withdrawal and work to reduce them to a bare minimum. Our patients are able to go through this withdrawal period with dignity, and they begin to experience the promise of a day in recovery right from the beginning of their journey. Medical detoxification at ARCH works because it is both safe, and it does not feel like punishment. It does not feel like you are in jail, rather it feels like the start of your new life. Our patients are able to go through withdrawal with the support of their friends and family - in addition to the medical professionals at ARCH who work with them to lay out what their goals are, a plan for how to get there, and stay engaged to make sure they get there. Recovery is key and is a lengthy process. Individualized counseling has been shown to give patients the best success during recovery.
