Alcoholism and other alcohol use disorders affect millions of Americans. Treatment programs traditionally include twelve step programs such as AA as as well as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities. These programs do work, especially if a person works the steps. ARCH Detox takes a harm reduction approach. Some severely alcoholic patients do need an abstinence-based program and for those patients we encourage residential-based rehabilitation and twelve step programs. But when a patient has done this several times and is still drinking, harm reduction is another option. Our harm reduction program, Stop At Two ( attempts to significantly reduce alcohol consumption with the use of medications that have been proven to help. These FDA-approved medications include oral or intra-muscular naltrexeone, acamprosate (Campral), baclofen and gabapentin. We have significant positive experience with The Sinclair Method, based on the research of Dr. David Sinclair. Much more information on The Sinclair Method can be found in The Cure for Alcoholism by Roy Eskapa, PhD and at the C Three Foundation. Our program strongly encourages patients to work with a counselor in a private one-on-one setting and we have counselors and therapists on our team to facilitate this. Our patients do much better with individualized therapy.

Executive Treatment Program ARCH's executive treatment program is designed for high-functioning individuals who may need extended care in an outpatient setting. Through this program the patient will have an initial intake appointment with both our physician and our psychology team. The physican and the psychologist will then meet to develop an individualized, outpatient, year-long treatment program for the patient. At a minimum the program will include monthly individualized meetings with the psychologist, open group meetings which will be available at least monthly, and quarterly meetings with the physician provider.
